Yandex.Delivery
Mobile App Improvements for 400k+ Couriers
Optimizing the Yandex PRO app for order executors across 12 countries
Context
Yandex Delivery is a complex two-sided marketplace with 400k+ MAU couriers. Yandex PRO is the primary work tool for couriers across 12 countries. The app processes hundreds of thousands of orders daily, and every second of delay directly impacts executor income. The work was carried out during international expansion, requiring process synchronization with Yandex.Taxi, Lavka, Eats, and Market teams.
Challenge
Optimize the Supply side of a global logistics marketplace. Design and implement product solutions for the courier mobile app (Yandex Pro) aimed at improving order execution efficiency and growing the B2B segment. Maximize courier "leg" efficiency: reduce cancellations and returns, increase order density, and make the platform reliable for large B2B clients.
Actions & Solutions
Flow Automation: Designed and implemented an auto-accept feature for orders linked to courier activity metrics, eliminating the bottleneck in the operational funnel.
Courier Toolkit: Implemented barcode scanning directly in the app, reducing time at A/B points, improving assembly accuracy, and decreasing client-side returns and cancellations.
B2B Trust: Developed a set of Proof of Delivery features that enabled scaling operations with corporate clients across multiple countries.
Ecosystem Integrations: Executed a series of cross-team projects for seamless integration of the Delivery courier fleet with Yandex.Lavka, Eats, and Market services. This provided couriers with a unified workflow and increased overall order density.
Flexibility Through Configuration: Implemented management of cancellation and return scenarios at different order execution stages using JSON configs and feature flags. This enabled instant adaptation of scenarios to local legislation and business requirements across 12 countries without releasing new app versions.
